The travel company was placed into administration at the beginning of January but it has now emerged that two of its brands, Travelsphere and Just You, were bought in a pre-pack administration deal by G Adventures – saving 200 jobs.
100 maritime staff and 50 All Leisure Holidays employees were made redundant when the company ceased trading.
As the company is covered by Abta, customers who had already booked and paid for holidays are receiving full refunds. According to reports, 13,000 future holidays were cancelled while 400 holiday makers were left stranded at destinations when the company went into administration.
Administrator, Grant Thornton, said in a statement to the BBC, “The cruise operations have been significantly loss-making over a number of years and the ongoing cost of funding these operations by the tours operations has created significant cash issues for the entire group, which has ultimately led to the administration of all businesses.”
If you are a customer, please visit Abta’s dedicated page for further advice and information.
