Scottish Slimmers has gone into liquidation and all 140 branches have closed.  30 members of staff have been made redundant.  The main website though is not run by the company and will be unaffected.  However those who have paid in advance for courses with trainers will not receive a refund.

A statement released on behalf of the firm read: “Scottish Slimmers (2009) Ltd has ceased trading with effect from midnight on Friday March 29 2019.  “A directors’ petition to appoint a liquidator, with a view to appointing Blair Milne, restructuring partner based in Campbell Dallas’ Glasgow office, was lodged today (Monday April 1 2019)

Amanda Boyle, who became Chief Executive last year said that the business was struggling with the legacy issues of the network or training centres.

So basically they had too many training centres that were not making any money.  With 30 people managing 140 centres does mean that perhaps financial controls were not in place?
