In a blow to muscians in London and Edinburgh the Music Shop and website of Red Dog Music has been closed as the company has gone into administration.

Stuart Robb and Julien Irving of Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery Limited have been appointed as joint administrators and the company has stopped trading

It means 13 of its 18 employees have been made redundant - with the remaining staff retained in the short term to assist the administrators.

Stuart Robb said: "There remains an opportunity to acquire the company’s remaining assets, which include a strong brand and online presence.”

A number of independent music shops have closed down as the purchase of musical instruments has moved online and the cost of premises has gone up.
