Over 300 jobs lost at bakery chain Cooplands

Administrators from Deloitte have been appointed to the Yorkshire-based company after poor trading results and financial losses.

Reports reveal 303 employees out of 562 are to be made redundant as the Doncaster head office and 39 stores are set to close. Fortunately, Business restructuring firm Resolve has bought 41 branches from Deloitte as well as Coopland’s sandwich delivery business, saving the remaining jobs.

Joint administrator, Adrian Berry, said, “Regrettably we have had to close 39 retail stores together with the bakery and head office in Doncaster.”

“However, there is some positive news today with the sale of 41 retail stores and the entire mobile sandwich van business, which will preserve 259 jobs.“

We are not involved in the administration and questions should be directed to Deloitte who are handling the administration.
