Oliver Sweeney is heard to have called in administrators for its retail subsidiary Oliver Sweeney Trading Limited, as it struggles with trading amid Covid-19 and the lockdown causing its stores to be shut since March.
Drapers reported that its five stores will now be permanently closed. Stores are in:
- London Mayfair
- London Leadenhall Market
- London Covent Garden
The retailers online and wholesale business are not included in the administration and so will continue to operate.
Tim Cooper, CEO, will remain in position of leading the business. He said he is ‘’disappointed’’ about the store closures but its ‘’confident’’ about moving the group online.
Oliver Sweeney sell a wide range of footwear and accessories for men, this including wallets, bags and shoe care products. It now becomes the latest retailer to be affected by the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic.
