Main Port Engineering has gone into administration

1 November 2016

PwC were appointed joint administrators to the Pembrokeshire-based company after a winding up petition was issued last month.
Serving the petrochemical industry, the company has suffered financially since the Murco Refinery closed in Milford Haven, resulting in fewer customers.

The winding up petition hearing was adjourned on Monday while PwC looks to sell parts of the business.

69 employees were made redundant upon appointment, while a further 88 jobs are still at risk.

Joint administrator, Roger Hale, commented:

“The company has had a long tradition of employing people in the local area, and we are focused on doing all we can to preserve as many jobs as we can while we look to see whether any part of the business can be saved."
