Hatton Garden company hit by robbery has gone into liquidation

1 September 2015

Earlier this year, thieves raided Hatton Garden Safe Deposit Ltd and left with £10 million worth of jewels. Reports soon emerged that nine robbers were involved in the heist and images of the cleared out property and destroyed concrete wall were shown all over the news.

Unfortunately, as a result of the extensive damage and losses, the company has now gone into liquidation to protect the client and creditor’s interests.

Stella Davis and Harold Sorsky from SPW Chartered Accountants were appointed joint administrators on 24th August to the family owned business.

Senior Insolvency Administrator, Sunney Sagoo, said in a statement, “We are in the process of preserving the company's assets and securing the premises, and our appointment is due to be ratified at a creditors' meeting later this week.”

“Because of the robbery and the bad publicity surrounding it the company had suffered from a loss of custom.”
