65 jobs lost at car dealership

8 July 2014

Brian Leighton (Garages) Limited has gone into administration following cashflow difficulties, resulting in a lack of funds for new vehicles.

The garage and car dealership operates a servicing centre for Land Rovers, a Nissan, Isuzu and SsangYong centre in Yorkshire, a BP petrol station and a SPAR shop among others. Every part of the business, except the SPAR shop has been closed, leading to 65 redundancies.

Joint administrators, Johnny Marston and Howard Smith of KPMG, made the following statement:
“We are currently reviewing options to find buyers for the premises and assets, as well as the petrol forecourt business and Spar shop. Interested parties are encouraged to get in touch”.

“We have staff on site to assist employees with any queries and claims to the Redundancy Payments Office.”

We are not involved in the administration and questions should be directed to Moorfields who are handling the administration.
